Double victory in Dijon/ France

Double victory for Andreas Bovensiepen in guest stint at DMV Cup in Dijon/ France

5th-7th September 2014

The Kaatsch customer team has been very successful in the DMV TCC this season with the BMW ALPINA B6 GT3.

“We decided to drive the race in Dijon to support the team in its endeavour to secure third place in the overall ranking.” says Andreas Bovensiepen who last sat behind the steering wheel of the B6 GT3 at the 24h race at the Nürburgring in 2009.

The managing director of ALPINA himself competed as a guest driver for the team and immediately claimed pole position in the qualifying for Race 1.

In the race itself Bovensiepen claimed a start-to-finish victory with a one second advantage over championship leader Jürgen Bender (Corvette) and a Mercedes SLS GT3. Hermann Wager took a good 6th place with his BMW ALPINA B6 GT3.

In Race 2 he was again able to secure the win for Team Kaatsch with an advantage of five seconds over the Corvette. “In Race 2 I had anticipated second place behind my teammate Florian Spengler. But when Florian Spengler 's tyre went flat and he unfortunately slipped from rank 1 to rank 11, I was able to gain the second win.” explains Andreas Bovensiepen.

“Dijon is a fast former Formula 1 track. The objective of ALPINA's commitment was to once again prove the performance of the BMW ALPINA B6 GT3.” commented Andreas Bovensiepen on the weekend and is pleased with the double victory. The BMW ALPINA B6 GT3 is still offered to interested teams for purchase. For more information please contact Maximillian Aul (m.aul@remove-this.alpina.de).
