Saloon

The BMW ALPINA B3 Saloon underscores its athletic, yet elegant appearance with impressive performance figures. Accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h takes just 3.6 seconds, while the 200 km/h mark is passed in 12.2 seconds on to a top speed of 305 km/h (190 mph).

Touring

With a top speed of 302 km/h, the BMW ALPINA B3 Touring is one of the fastest of its kind. Accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h takes just 3.7 seconds and 200 km/h is reached in 12,7 seconds.

Progressive

The revised exterior design underlines the sporty character of the BMW ALPINA B3 models. The ALPINA aerodynamic components at the front and rear take up the new, progressive shape and give the BMW ALPINA B3 models a unique appearance. In addition to the traditional ALPINA paint finishes ALPINA Blue and ALPINA Green, there are many BMW and BMW Individual paint finishes available, including new options such as Melbourne Red, Brooklyn Grey and Skyscraper Grey.

Performance and torque

With a new exhaust system featuring the latest exhaust gas treatment technology and new engine software, the BMW ALPINA B3 drivetrain now represents a new stage of technological evolution. It now generates 364 kW (495 hp) of power – an increase of 24 kW (33 hp) – from 3.0 litres of displacement and utilising two ALPINA specific mono-scroll turbochargers. The maximum torque has risen by 30 Nm (22 lb-ft) to 730 Nm (538 lb-ft).

Precision, agility, dynamics

The superior driving experience of the BMW ALPINA B3 is largely influenced by the ALPINA Sport Suspension. Utilising the variable damper control, the ALPINA chassis engineers have created a wide range of set-ups offering excellent ride comfort and precise, dynamic handling. Four driving modes are available: COMFORT+, COMFORT, SPORT and SPORT+. The precision and agility that characterise the BMW ALPINA B3’s handling are achieved through the ALPINA calibrated variable sports steering as well specific springs, bump stops and stabilisers for improved body control.

BMW iDrive

The latest generation of the BMW iDrive adds a new, digital dimension to the vehicle-driver interaction. The technological basis is provided by the BMW Operating System 8 in combination with intuitive control options like the outstanding voice control offered by the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. In the cockpit, the large 14.9" curved display allows the digital instrument panel and the central control display to merge into one unit. The gauges of the digital instrument panel are designed in a trademark ALPINA Blue and Green colour scheme.

Stated fuel consumption and CO2 emissions are measured pursuant to EU Regulation 715/2007 in its applicable version. From 1st of September 2018 the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP) has replaced the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC).

From January 2021 onwards, European Union member states are required to ensure that new passenger cars offered for sale, for lease or exhibited in showrooms or similar, are clearly labelled with consumption and emission data according to the new WLTP test cycle. Work is currently underway on the amendment of the German regulatory framework which governs the implementation of this European Union obligation in German law, its final completion however is still outstanding. For a number of new vehicles, NEDC consumption and emission values are no longer available, it is therefore reasonable that the more realistic WLTP consumption and emission values are provided to customers instead.

The official manufacturer consumption and emission values have already been determined on the basis of the new WLTP test cycle and, for some models, calculated back to NEDC test cycle for information purposes. The WLTP values are used for the assessment of taxes.
